Having just been named Fast Company’s 5th Most Innovative Company in the Consumer Electronics category, this is an opportunity to lead an elite group of engineers and usher in a new era of wireless power. We are looking for an experienced, hands-on electrical engineer to take our industry-changing platforms from the technology phases through commercialization.

You will own advanced projects and get involved with every part of the system, including electronics, firmware, automation tools, mechanicals, and production. The ideal candidate comes from a deep tech background and is passionate about evolving industries through groundbreaking customer-driven experiences.

Reporting to the COO and in partnership with the office of the CTO, you will be an executive leader in a critical customer-facing role and a key driver of ongoing transformation for both Aira and our customers.

Key qualifications:

  • 15+ years of senior leadership experience in hardware/software product engineering and manufacturing
  • Leadership experience in both established companies and early-stage entities

  • Proven and verifiable track record of successful product launches and high-volume lifecycles

We are looking for electrical engineers experienced with embedded digital and analog electronics. Experience with microcontrollers is preferred but not required. We are looking for engineers that are comfortable working interdependently and coming up with creative solutions to challenging problems.

Skills Required

  • Analog signal processing

We are hiring a senior Technical Project Manager with experience with hardware electronics design and embedded firmware. 

Position Summary

The senior Technical Project Manager (TPM) works with a team of hardware and firmware/software engineers in conjunction with Airas business management and executive team to coordinate all aspects of the customer engagement process using an agile scrum-based product development system. 

The TPM is responsible for first-level technical support of the customer, managing complex NPI and product ramp schedules, and providing critical feedback on Aira’s ability to rapidly align to customer needs. These activities include program milestones, technical Q&A, design alignment, product requirement documentation, implementation of change notices, and resolution of technical and supply-chain issues. Aira is seeking a qualified individual to join the team in Chandler, AZ.

  • Establish and implement training processes and strategies for all technical personnel
  • Analyze, plan and develop requirements and standards in reference to scheduled projects
  • Assign and oversee the daily tasks of technical personnel while ensuring all subordinates are actively working toward established milestones
  • Manage technical team meetings to determine progress and address any questions or challenges regarding projects
  • Determine and define clear deliverables, roles and responsibilities for team members required for specific projects or initiatives
  • Interface with all key stakeholders, including B2B customers, to ensure clear communications on all projects

Essential Duties and Qualifications

  • Manage new product introductions (NPI) and customer program and ramp schedules at Aira’s headquarters in Chandler AZ, and in conjunction with Aira’s eco-system of contract subcontractors in Asia
  • The Technical Program Manager (TPM) should be knowledgeable in the processes associated with advanced electronics hardware qualification and volume ramp
  • Experience with automotive electronics is a plus
  • The ideal candidate needs to be able to work with the customer on a daily basis; demonstrated experience with rapid problem solving and reporting the status of on-going as well as future programs is needed; must possess excellent program management skills
  • Demonstrated ability working in a fast-paced start-up or new-venture environment with significant experience regarding risk and time management
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate in both large and small groups with excellent presentation and cross-functional team influence skills
  • Must be flexible to work in international business hours with worldwide customers, and Asian supply-chain partners 
  • Must be self-driven and show initiative with exceptional follow-up on active programs with multiple customers / key stakeholders
  • Proficiency with Atlassian and Jira is required, with strong MS Office and program management/CRM tools.
